The Rayne team is all over the world and last week they dominated Talegong Longboard Fest in Indonesia! Team rider Gerard Cancio and flow rider Andry Satria won pro and am class respectively. Below is a raw run of the sweeping course!
We also managed to get a few words out of Gerard about the race:
The Talegong race track was pretty challenging and a whole lot of fun! Narrow roads, quick transition corners, a couple speed control turns, and a thick mountain fog every now and then were a few things we had to deal with, along with having to race a whole bunch of fast skateboarders down the run. It was the first official downhill race organized in Indonesia, and they definitely set the bar high.
I'm excited about how the scene is progressing in Southeast Asia, and Asia as a whole. All the races in the Philippines, the first official race in Malaysia last July, and this Indonesian race we just had are keeping me hopeful for that Asian racing league we've been wanting to organize. Looking forward to it becoming a reality in the very near future!
