With a close and controversial finish in Chile, Dalua was eventually called to the podium to take a 2nd place finish and put him over the top for series points, awarding him the title of South American Champion!
"After almost a week of bad sleeping, thinking everything that happened in Chile, a ridiculous race from the start to the end ending in a very controversial final... after being dislocated and crashing due the unexperience of [another] rider, today IGSA councils have made the final decision and with no exceptions everyone voted to maintain the same decision that was announced in Chile... That was not the way i wished to finish South American Series... downhill need to be won at the hill... Douglas Dalua 2011 South American Champion at the hill."
Dalua is now on his way to South Africa for the final race of the IGSA World Cup season and looking for the points to put him in second for the World Series title. Congrats Dalua! Looking forward to the 2012 South American season and another amazing year of great racing!
