Rayne team rider Caio Cezat has been tearing it up in Brazil.
Recently he even won the Partiu Downhill Race and sent through a few photos and a recap. Here it is:
On weekend of April 13th was held the first circuit phase "Partiu Downhill" at Vitória city. The Espirito Santo state is developing a dowhill scene and the event brought in many riders from all around Brazil to join the locals.
On Saturday we had some pretty cool rides with everybody trying to make their best time to qualify for Sunday's race. But nothing called more atention than see Derek Rabelo goin down. Derek got blind when he was very young due a disease named glaucoma,he is proving to us all that impossible is nothing knocking adversities down and challenging his own limits. Now he wants to go beyond and plans to drop Teutonia by the end of the year helped by a guide.
On Sunday we had a day full of adrenaline with the girls taking over the hill starting the finals providing a show of beauty, technique and skills to the crowd. After lunch the climatic conditions had a drastic change with strong winds blowing out strategies had to change also. Coming from behind and protected by the air resistence we had many overtakings during the day. What made the event so exciting for riders and public!
