Recently there was another death in the scene on Vancovuer Island. Rayne team rider and Flatspot Longboard Shop owner, Mischa Chandler, met with CBC today to talk about the issues and stigma surrounding longboarding. Mischa did an extremely good job uncovering certain issues and dispelling popular beliefs about the dangers of longboarding. Flatspot and Mischa have done so much already for longboarding in Vancouver as it continues to grow and will continue doing all they can to see that people are getting out there but also being safe while doing it! Part of this is hosting a learn to stop session at Clark Park for those interested in learning how to control their speed better twice a month! If you'd like to check out one of these sessions just follow the Flatspot Facebook Page for updates.
