This weekend was the second Catalina Island Classic Downhill race hosted by Rivera Skateboards. An invitational race hosted on an island 26 miles away from anything else.

The Ferry terminal was a reunion of many familiar faces after a long winter away from racing. The boat was small and quicker and bumpier than most expected, especially those of us used to the BC ferries drone. Once on the island shinanigans started, parties were had, the sheriff was called and all was sorted out.

The first day of riding was amazing; runs all day and as promised many practice runs were had. Enough so that you could learn each curve of the race quite well. If day 1 wasn't enough there was a few practice before racing started on day 2.

Sunday threatened rain all day. A few drop here and there had people on their toes but nothing ever formed on the ground.

Rayne showed well with Jake Fast advancing a few heats, Anna Oneil took 3rd in Women's and Patrick Switzer taking home the big prize.

Check out the men's and women's finals videos as well!
