The 2012 King of Clermont was set to blow up with new sponsors and partners like Rayne, Bustin, Vicious, Gullwing, Divine and Surf Expo. Pro's from all sponsors came in droves and brought out names like Florida native William Royce, Andrew Mercado from California, Jonas Richter from Brasil, Calvin Staub from Colorado, Blake Startup from Canada and Brent Dubendorff, who is orginally from Florida, now living in Cali. Rayne made sure to bring some of their own weapons out and rider Jose Guzman came out from Puerto Rico with his eyes set on a podium finish.

Jose had a solid day winning each of his heats. Trailing in the finals behind Andrew Mercado, with all sponsored riders behind him in the pack, Jose stuck his line in the final corner while Mercado scrubbed and lost his lead, eventually coming in third and leaving the win for Jose!
