Hop has recently moved on to different things! For a while he ran the biggest longboard shop in Australia, and over the last couple years he’s been struggling to keep it going. Most people didn't know that he also worked a full time job and ran the skate shop as a hobby, the recent opening of competing stores has forced him to close the doors!

It’s not all bad news though! Hop will still be working towards the things that got him started in the first place; supporting athletes and pushing the Australian community. There will also still be a skater run shop running near the old Hopshop by the former manager, David Robertson. He'll be running the shop under a new name, Basement Skate, and Hop is asking for everyone to please support the shops new life!

Hop posted up a bit of an article about the transfer of ownership. You can check it out on the Hopkins Skate Blog.

I've also written a little bit more into supporting local on my own website, you can check that one out here.
