Rayne Longboards Presents: King Of Kona 2014

 Rayne Team Rider Cameron Frazier sure knows how to put on an event. If you missed out last year you need to be there this year! 3 full days of shredding an epic park, and event more epic snake run, who could ask for more?

Kona Skatepark was build in the 1970's and has hosted countless skaters over the years. Now its our turn! For more information on the event and all sorts of rider stoke check out the Facebook Page

Register here for the low price of only $60! Registration gets you 3 full days of riding (24 hour park access), an event shirt, meal tickets, camping access, live music, and the chance to win over $2500 in cash prizes! 

Here is a quick schedule typed out by the event organizer:

Friday, Jan. 10th
-Riders are welcome to start show up around 6pm. Friday will mostly be a "Get to know the park" day with some live music later in the night.

Saturday, Jan. 11th
-Head-2-Head snake races 
*2 - 32 Man brackets, one in the morning, one in the evening
*Top 4 from each bracket go to the Finals
-Mini-ramp comp w/ $500 cash purse
*45 min. Jam format with top 10 going to 15 minute Finals Jam
-BBQ and Gullwing Vert Demo
*Home cooked BBQ and Vert Jam around 7pm
-Pool comp w/ $500 cash purse
*45 min. Jam format with top 10 going to 15 minute Finals Jam
*Live music

Sunday, Jan. 12th
-Head-2-Head snake races 
*2 - 32 Man brackets, one in the morning, one in the evening
*Top 4 from each bracket go to the Finals
-Park Relay Race w/ $ cash purse
*Teams of 2 race head-2-head 
*Race through the park hitting specific obstacles to their teammates then tag their teammates in to skate back
*Will be limiting this to a 64 man bracket (128 riders total)
-Head-2-Head snake race Finals w/ $1,000 cash purse
*Top 4 from races 1-4 from both days go to a 16 man finals
-Awards and prizes
-BBQ
*Home cooked BBQ around 7pm

Monday, Jan. 13th
-Clean up, Pack up and head home
*Riders welcome to stay Sunday night and leave in the morning.
*No events planned for this day but feel free to skate...if you can!

Other events are planned but will happen on a more random schedule
-Best Trick
-Rail Jam
-Stair Jam
-Buttboard Race

We will also be doing the overall winner or "The King of Kona" which will be a points based system. Each rider will have their own card to sign off certain challenges. These challenges will range from super simple, to ridiculous or gnarly. 
Points will be greater, the more challenging the task. Winning events will also give you points. At the end of the weekend the rider with the most points will be crowned the "King of Kona" and take home $1000 cash!


Aidan Lynds

Aidan is a 19 year old who has a ton of fun on his skateboard and even more fun traveling with it. Reigning from Vancouver BC, his skating matured quickly while following some of the best in the world down his home runs. Aidan enjoys nothing more than a sunny day on the hill with his bro's - always celebrating, never falling. Aidan is supported by Rayne Longboards, Sector 9 wheels, and Switchback longboards. Look for Aidan on a hill near you.
